End of semester

                                                      END OF THE YEAR 
So, now we come to end of the year reflection. I had very good 2 year of IB in OSC. I learnt lots of things and lots of different skills like communication, collaboration, engaging and so on. In these 2 year of period we had 2-3 trips to different places in Sri Lanka. First we went to IB orientation trip which was in starting of 11 grade, in that trip we had lot of fun and we had a good chance there to know about ourselves. After that we had a geography trip this is for the IA but it's kind of like a week without for Geo class for me. But i did work too and fun obviously. So, by these two trips i learnt about the how communication connects people from each other and how engaging in the activity or be the part of that activity affect you.

As i posted in previous posts in this blog we have different after school activity in our school. And in the part of CAS we have to do 1 activity so in starting of 11 grade i decided to teach cricket to small graders kids like from 4-8 and i did this and i accomplished my all goals. I taught them properly and after my teaching when i saw them playing cricket they are doing very well which shows my teaching skills and which also shows my hard work. And i was the leader of that activity so, I have more responsibility to take care of them and teach them properly and etc. In 12 grade in the first semester i did the same thing but in second semester i decided to do the Saisa badminton because i really wanted to go in that. In Saisa all the american school from different Asian countries they  meet at one place and they had a tournament. I did lots of practice and i beat so many players to get in the team and I am in the team of 8 players. By doing these two activities it shows the capability and the stamina in me. Badminton is the game of communication, I am very good in communication and also in team work. without these two things We can't play or win the matches.

In CAS this is the program which connects you with everything environmentally , globally, communication, engaging etc. In this programe we have to chose one creativity, action which is any sports and one service. in Service last year i did RCCI which is good service and which connects you globally and which helps you to meet new disabled people and shoe some feelings for them. With the help of communication and other aspects i did this service. In this service communication is the hard thing and other thing is to manage them. because they don;t know what is going on and we can't communicate properly with them so this is the challenging thing for me. But in 12 grade i decided to do the SOS which look after the orphanage children's. From there organization small kids comes to our school and we spent our sometime with them and we teach thme english and play games with them and we engage them into some other things so that they don't feel bad. We had a swimming session in this activity and we also had outdoor sports session like football, cricket etc. From this sevice i learnt so many things like communication, engaging, how feelings are connected to each other and for making people happy is the hard thing in the world which we did in this activity.

In creativity I the starting of the 11 grade I learnt guitar and I had a teacher who teaches me guitar. I learnt so many musics how to play that and i learnt the basic stuff first so that it will be easy for me to play anything. But learning the string and remembering the stings in guitar is so challenging for me. But it was fun to play with the instrument and form some new and creative sound. I achieved every goals that i set in the starting of the activity,after sometime when i used to with the guitar i also started remembering strings and i achieved my all goals. In 12grade  I started doing wildlife photography and i set goals for that also in the starting of the this activity. In this activity we learnt about different camers and the functioning of the camera. how we can take different shot from different angles and what functions from the camera we can use and etc. we had one trip to some lake but unfortunately i wouldn't go there because i had exams in that week so. I achived all goals in this i already know littlebit aout camera but not all camera. So i learnt that. and I also clicked 3 pictures which you can see in my blog in photography post.

So, now we done with all our activity which I am going to miss and i learnt so many things from these activity and service and actually these are really helpful for me in future too.

Wildlife Photography

                                              Nature Camera Capture ( Wildlife Photography)

Photography is the new after school activity in our school which just started. I decided to take part in that activity because i like photography and its about the wild life which is challenging and interesting for me to do. For doing this acitvity i set some goals to accomplish at the end. I want to be good photographer and i want to learn some skills in camera. I want learn the focusing and angle things in camera and lighting system also.
In this activity at the very starting of this activity we started talking about the different camera and how they different from others. In other session of this activity we talk bout how we can take a good picture by using different tools from the camera. After learning all these things we started our first tour in our school compound and we started taking some pictures of small wildlife like ants birds lizards etc which was quiet fun and interesting and how can i forget that it is very challenging for me to take a picture of something which have life. Because it's really hard to take picture of the live animals or something. Mr. Duncun is our head in this activity who tells us to take 3 picture of wildlife animals for our surroundings. We had a trip to lake near battramulla but unfortunately i couldn't go there because i had lots of work at that time. Which is really bad thing i missed the important thing but i took lots of beautiful pictures from our school compound.
After taking all the picture now its time to make pictures beautiful and editing the lighting and the brightness. So we started that and we edited our picture that we took and we made them beautiful and give some effect of wildlife in them so that it will look like wildlife photo.
From this activity i learnt a lot about the photography and also about the camera actually different types of camera. This actvity is also challenging for me in some area where we have to take pictures of birds, which i have to polish my skills bit more by taking more pictures of birds and moving animals.But in some area i really good i love editing and im really good in that we used some application for editing the pictures.

The shuttle Game ( Badminton )

                                                                Badminton

The game of shuttle called badminton. It’s a really interesting game played by shuttle cock and racket. In badminton there is net and we just have to pass the shuttle over the net. There are lots of matches we can play in badminton like doubles, mixed doubles, and singles.  This time our Overseas school of Colombo is going to host this event in Colombo.  Saisa event is one of the big sports event where all the players come from different countries and we play tournament. It’s like the championship.

Our coaches Mr. De silva and Mr. Pradeep are working so hard to make us play and they are helping us to play badminton properly. In badminton there are some rules which we have to learn before starts playing. I started playing Saisa badminton and I got in the team. There are eight boys in team and we started cleaning our skills and techniques for this game and we have to learn some new techniques for beating the opponents.

 I set some goals for badminton which are going to help me when I play. I have to learn new techniques and I have to clean my techniques by playing more matches. I have to collaborate with my team and coaches. Communication is one the big thing in game and in badminton communications is one of the big this because we have to hit the shuttle so we can call how is going to hit the shuttle.

We some challenges in this game like leaning skills and keep up with that. And for me it’s hard hit the back hand shot and body shot so I have learn that types of shot more clearly and with more perfection so that I can play in actual match. Badminton for me is not a big thing I already played this game in my old school but this event is such big event for me so I have to play in this event very well .

                                                       Goals setting  for Semester 2

Creativity : - This semester I have new goals and challenges that I have to do complete in this semester. As this is our last semester for our CAS so, we using more time in our different activities to complete our challenges and aim. This semester my goals for Creativity are to be more creative in photography. Photography is the new creativity for us and I set different goals which I have to complete by the end of this semester. First is i have to open minded in this activity so that i can i ask more and gain knowledge about camera and other things related to photography. Photography is about the practicing by taken pictures and you have to be risk takers for that you have to go some where and then click a picture.

Action : - This semester we have Saisa Badminton which is going to be in our school. My action is saisa badminton. I set so many goals in this because i want to get in team. My first goal is to be more Knowledgeable about the sports and about the rules in that. As we know that in every games we have to communicate with each other to get success in that so, my other goal will be communicate with each other while playing a game. Saisa is the big event for our school so I have to be good player in badminton because after that in tournament I have to represent our school which means i will reflect my knowledge by playing and winning the tournament for my school.

Service : - Service is one of the challenging thing where you have to show your ability and different skills in that area. I'm in SOS service which look after the children who are orphans. They come to our school every Thursday and we play lots of different games with them and then we go to swimming pool and teach them how to do swimming. In this service i made goals to be more communicate with children to know them more. Everytime we have to come up with some new idea which we have to think for them what will they like and they not get bored of it. We have to share our ideas in this service that means we have to be open minded. This service actually deals globally by helping these kids we are doing something for their community. 

Reflection on Grade 12 semester 1

Grade 12 is the higher class. And of course we have so much work to do everyday. But with all these things we have to keep up with all the other things also like CAS, sports and other studies etc. This semester i did lots of hard work not only in studies but in my all of the activities also. I started the badminton as my action which is really fun and i really enjoy that. With studies other things are also important for our life. I m engaging with the SOS service which helps me to understand my self who I am ?? who am I ? which is a good thing. This semester  i did really good work in everything which helps me to get good grades. In studies i always did my work on time which is good. i arrange my work in a proper way. which helps me to finish my work more quickly and it helps me to give the rough idea what thing i have to finish in a week so mange my self to do those things. This semester we had our TOK presentation which was good but yeah with all these things prepartions for that was little bit hard But Yeah it was good. This semester in physics i developed my communication skills by working with partners in labs and i also develop my thinking skills with help of everything i did this semester. I feel more confident this semester in lots of different areas.

Teaching Cricket

                                                           
I did cricket for last 1 year. this is my second time in cricket but this time i'm doing cricket as a creativity by teaching students how to play different techniques in cricket. I am group leader of cricket and i have 2 more group leaders Akila and Shwetank. They both know how to play cricket and they doing very well. so, Our main aim is to teach them different bowling styles and batting styles. For doing this we have to start with communicating with them so we are thinking to do some activity so it will easy for us to know them and it easy to them to us very well. So, basically we have to start with one techniques where all the kids doing same at the time so we decided that we divided the groups into 3 and we teach them same techniques at same time. For first day we all did was playing a cricket match with them and during the match me and my other group leader we watching them carefully who need more practice and how they playing match, what type of skills they can understand and what type of teaching skills we have to use. We are doing well in cricket and we started teaching them some techniques like catching the ball and how to hold the bat properly. And in next lessons we are going to teach some new useful techniques which helps them to be a good cricketer.

Started Badminton

                                                             
I started doing badminton as my action. Last few session i really enjoying playing badminton and i learnt lots of new things about that.Playing badminton is quite challenging for me because from last few months i haven't play badminton so i decided to take this challenge and i started playing once again. badminton is enjoyable game for me it has lots of action in it. In badminton I am really good in serving and smashing. in last class i played with Akila ( my classmate) and i beat him by 4/10 which is really good for me as i started playing badminton again. Badminton is a game where we have to do lots of communication actually in every game we have to do communication. But in badminton when we are playing with two players so we have to communicating and collaborating with each other so we can play well in match. After all this practice of badminton i am thinking to sign up for SAISA badminton where i can show my ability to do. SIASA is very challenging thing to do we meet different players from different school we see different skill in them and then we planning a lot to win match.
